Two days in Shanghai | Travel tips

Shanghai (上海) is one of the fastest growing and largest cities in Mainland China. It is also one of the least polluted cities in China. In comparison to Beijing, visiting Shanghai was a completely different experience. Unlike Beijing, there are not many historical buildings to see but the citie's popular tall and modern structures.
Now is the best time to travel to Shanghai, during fall it is usually warm and sunny. The cities's climate can be classified as humid subtropical, so summers can be pretty hot and humid.  I put together a list of places for you that are interesting to visit on a short city trip to Shanghai.

1. Visit Yuyuan Gardens, an ancient park with pavilions, towers and ponds in the old city (Nanshi) to see more classical Chinese architecture. Nevertheless, expect this beautiful place to be crowded. 218 Anren Street, near Fuyou Road
2. Classic western architecture and French Concession (Luwan, Xuhui). You can find the best restaurants and most beautiful architecture near Fuxing Park. Gaolan Road
3. Modern architecture. The Oriental Pearl Tower (1 Century Avenue, Pudong New Area) is a must see. Go to the huge observation deck on top of the Shanghai World Financial Center (100 Century Ave, Pudong) to get a panoramic view on Shanghai.
4. The Bund with the light show in Pudong and historical buildings on the colonial riverside at night. It was once the most important financial street in Asia. Zhongshan East 1st Rd, Huangpu
 The Oriental Pearl Tower
 Shanghai World Financial Center
 The Bund
 At the old town
