When I first heard of strobing as a new makeup technique I was like: Well, another beauty trend that I don't need. I am pretty sure you all heard of it and know the idea behind it. However, if you have not noticed: Strobing is basically highlighting without heavy contouring. Today's post is how to get the glow for a subtle look that does not look too sweaty.
When you skip the contouring altogether you will rely on highlighters only to add dimension and definition to the face. You can either use duo sticks that include contouring and highlighting (I like the sticks Maybelline and Nyx had now come with) or your favorite concealer that is a shade lighter than your skin tone (My favorites: HERE and HERE). To add a bit of shimmer and a light flush use your favorite highlighter. Depending on your preference, use a creamy or a powdery highlighter. In general, if your skin is more on the oily side, use powders. If your skin is dry, use a creamy highlighter. I mixed Soft and Gentle (MAC, HERE) with the strobing pen by Catrice in the shade Ready for Champagne (HERE). Put a little bit of highlighter on your cheekbones, forehead, cupid's bow as described down below. I also love to add a bit of brightness to my inner eye area.
Here is the finished look:
