The Truth About Oily Skin or How To Fight Oily Skin With Oils

When I was younger, I had all the drugstore washes and treatments that were supposed to leave my oily skin with as matte a complexion as possible. Today, I know just how good facial oils are for oily skin. Yes, you can really fight oily skin with oils! I know it seems totally counter-intuitive.
There are many reasons for oily skin, like genetics, hormone levels or simply the weather. If your skin is oily, you need to stay away from things that are likely to clog your pores. However, many products on the market to fight the oils on your skin can be stripping and remove all its natural oils. That leads to the skin producing even more oils to overcompensate for the reduction of oil. Also, if you are cleansing your skin more than twice a day since it is so oily, your oily skin produces more oil as a defence mechanism to balance out the loss of moisture. The more oily your skin, the lighter and gentle your cleanser you should be, like sulfate-free, paraben-free, oil-free and perfume free products. And do not forget: Even oily skin needs to be moisturized.
Natural oils can actually help to moisture oily skin and to heal acne. But the thing is that some oils are great for oily skin, while others are occlusive and can block pores. Here are some oils that work wonders on oily skin:

1. Jojoba Oil

... is stopping the overproduction of the skin's natural oils.

2. Aloe Vera Essential Oil

... reduces redness, inflammation and cools the skin.

3. Tea Tree Oil

... works anti-bacterial and soothes and treats pimples.

4. Rosehip oil

... is a dry oil, which is rich in vitamin C, Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids. It penetrates to the deepest layers of the skin  regenerating cells, increasing the collagen production and also reducing the appearance of wrinkles.

5. Vitamin C & E Oils

... help to release dead skin cells, restore radiance, and smooth and rehydrate skin.
